Important Letter About School Attendance During the Current Lockdown
Please see below an important letter from Sefton Education concerning attendance at school during the current lockdown. We ask that in order to minimise social contact that wherever possible, you keep your child at home.
Free School Meals (from Tuesday 5th January)
the government have not yet provided schools with any information or guidance as to how this will work.
The school still intends to ensure all children who we receive funding for will get their free school meal entitlement.
We are still awaiting further information from the government as to how this will work, however at the moment we think we will issue vouchers* at the end of each week. Issuing at the end of the week will ensure we can check who has attended school first. It is intended that vouchers will be issued by the Wonde School Vouchers website.
* This arrangement is subject to change should new government guidance be issued.
Return to school from January 2021
We hope you have had a happy and peaceful Christmas. Following the government announcement this week, on the return to school in January I write to inform you of a number of important changes.
Monday 4th January 2021 remains an INSET day and school is closed to all pupils. However the new term start dates are as follows
Vulnerable children and children of critical workers will be able to attend school in person from the start of term on Tuesday 5th January 2021.
If your child falls within this category, you will be contacted by school on Monday 4th January.
If you are a critical worker and have not been contacted by 2pm on Monday 4th January, please contact the school (both Oakfield and Daleacre campus’ depending on your child’s year group) to confirm arrangements for your child’s return to school.
Students should attend in full school uniform and the timings of the school day will remain the same.
Currently, Year 11 students are expected to return to school for face-to-face education on Monday 11th January 2021 and all other students will be expected to return to school for face-to-face education on Monday 18th January 2021.
Whilst students are not in school for face-to-face teaching they will be able to access remote education and work packs containing work they would be doing in school, will be sent out to them via post.
Remote education for all year groups will posted out on Monday 4th January.
School Meals over Christmas
Vouchers to the value of £30 will be issued to eligible children for whom Impact has received funding for. (some children will be provided vouchers by their main registered school)
