Return to school from January 2021

We hope you have had a happy and peaceful Christmas. Following the government announcement this week,  on the return to school in January I write to inform you of a number of important changes.

Monday 4th January 2021 remains an INSET day and school is closed to all pupils. However the new term start dates are as follows

Vulnerable children and children of critical workers will be able to attend school in person from the start of term on Tuesday 5th January 2021.

If your child falls within this category, you will be contacted by school on Monday 4th January.

If you are a critical worker and have not been contacted by 2pm on Monday 4th January, please contact the school (both Oakfield and Daleacre campus’ depending on your child’s year group) to confirm arrangements for your child’s return to school.

Students should attend in full school uniform and the timings of the school day will remain the same.

Currently, Year 11 students are expected to return to school for face-to-face education on Monday 11th January 2021 and all other students will be expected to return to school for face-to-face education on Monday 18th January 2021.

Whilst students are not in school for face-to-face teaching they will be able to access remote education and work packs containing work they would be doing in school, will be sent out to them via post.

Remote education for all year groups will posted out on Monday 4th January.

School Meal vouchers over Easter break

Again, Sefton Council are kindly funding the issue of vouchers to all eligible pupils over the Easter break. Vouchers to the value of £30 per eligible child will be issued to parents shortly. If you have any problems accessing your voucher or havent received it, please email school in the first instance for us to investigate further.

School Meal Vouchers over February half term

Sefton Council will be funding the issue of vouchers to eligible parents over the half term break. Vouchers to the value of £15.00 per eligible child will be issued on Friday 12th February in addition to any voucher that you are due for that week of schooling.

The government have also confirmed that they will continue to fund free school meal vouchers from week commencing 22nd February. If you believe you should be receiving vouchers but have not had any through, please contact the school directly and ask to speak to the Business Manager.

Free School Meals (from Tuesday 5th January)

The government have not yet provided schools with any information or guidance as to how this will work.

The school still intends to ensure all children who we receive funding for will get their free school meal entitlement.

We are still awaiting further information from the government as to how this will work, however at the moment we think we will issue vouchers* at the end of each week. Issuing at the end of the week will ensure we can check who has attended school first. It is intended that vouchers will be issued by the Wonde School Vouchers website.
* This arrangement is subject to change should new government guidance be issued.

School Meals over Christmas

Vouchers to the value of £30 will be issued to eligible children for whom Impact has received funding for. (some children will be provided vouchers by their main registered school)

Those children who we have received funding for should have received details of their voucher by now.
Any queries concerning vouchers and the retrospective issue of them can be raised with school directly after Tuesday 5th January 2021.

School Meals (October 2020 Half Term Holidays)

If you are eligible for free school meals, Sefton have agreed to fund these meals throughout the  October half term.
Full details and how to apply for your voucher can be found here

Impact will not be issuing these vouchers directly and any queries should be directed to the Sefton Council contact centre, full details can be found at the above link.
