BCS Level 2 Certificate in IT Application Skills (QCF)
ECDL is a Level 2 qualification and provides proof of your digital literacy. The aim of the qualification is to recognise the application of a range of IT user skills and knowledge in the workplace, meeting workforce demands. This ECDL Qualification is a fixed combination, and promotes the efficient use of popular office application software; word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
The Modules
Word processing
Creation of word-processed documents: entering text, editing and formatting work, using graphs, tables and pictures for a professional finish, and effectively using tools such the spell-checker and mail merge.
Spreadsheet software
Working knowledge of spreadsheets, from entering data and formatting worksheets, to creating charts and producing high-quality documents.
Presentation software
Producing high-quality presentations using a variety of tools including charts, graphs and drawn objects.
Improving productivity using IT
This unit looks at using tools to save time and effort when producing word processed documents, presentations and spreadsheets.
Assessment
There are 4 live tests each 45 minutes long.
You will complete a practise paper first to see what your level competence is already.
If necessary, you will complete on-line tutorials to fill in any gaps in your knowledge and use additional resources in lessons.
You will then complete an online diagnostic test (mock exam) to see if you are ready to take the final assessment. You need to score at least 75% in order to take the final assessment.
If you are ready you will complete the final live assessment. Here you will receive immediate feedback as to whether you have passed.
If you do not pass you can revisit the tutorials, complete additional practise tasks and take another final assessment.
