Impact Sefton Secondary Pupil Referral Unit

As part of the ongoing partnership work with Merseyside Police, pupils and staff at the Assessment & Reintegration Centre (ARC) welcomed officers and dogs from Merseyside Police Dogs Unit.

Accompanying the dog handlers were 2 officers on an exchange visit from Germanys Stuttgart Police Force, and the pupils were very interested in exploring the various roles of the officers from both forces.

The pupils enjoyed a presentation from the officers and were also introduced to the handlers 4 dogs, Lenny and Tilly both German Shepherds, Max a Spaniel and Champ a Golden Retriever.
Following the presentation the pupils and staff were invited to watch a demonstration from the handlers and their dogs, Lenny and Max.

Lenny and his handler demonstrated a Chase and Detain exercise and Max completed his demonstration on Personal Property Recovery.

The session ended with a question and answer session.
