We aim to ensure that every pupil leaves Impact with an English qualification.
Most pupils achieve a GCSE in English whilst others will gain the Entry Level Certificate.
All pupils take Functional English qualifications as these are valued greatly by further education colleges and employers.
In English, we make sure that you have the skills to communicate in the work place.
We also encourage you to read as it is a valuable life skill and the book is always better than the film!
At Impact we study the English Cambridge iGCSE. We chose this because it is mainly coursework based with a small amount of speaking and listening and one final written paper.
We also offer the Entry Level Certificate in English. This concentrates on learning basic English skills for the work place and in your daily lives.
The Entry Level Certificate consists of a controlled assessment and an exam. Both of these test your skills of reading, writing and speaking and listening.
The key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening are also tested in the AQA Unit Awards. These provide discreet units, certificated by AQA , which cover essential areas of English giving extra qualifications in the basic English skills.
